MM

Orkney Money Matters is a partnership project working with frontline support organisations including Orkney Housing Association, Orkney Blide Trust, THAW Orkney, Orkney Citizens Advice Bureau, NHS Orkney, Orkney Islands Council, Voluntary Action Orkney (VAO), Social Security Scotland and many more.

We have created a referral pathway to offer you a circle of support whilst focussing on a 'no wrong door' approach.

We are here to offer the community of Orkney information on the available support all in the same place.

Additionally, we will have emergency contact numbers for anyone experiencing a crisis and needing urgent support.

If you feel that you are in a crisis and struggling to afford the essentials like heating or eating, please contact the Money Matters Links worker with Orkney Citizens Advice Bureau on: 01856 875621

Blide Trust takeover of BBC Radio Orkney tonight!!

Radio orkney 1

The BBC Radio Orkney arts and culture programme "Tullimentan" tonight features poetry, music and performed monologues by members of the Blide Trust mental health charity - first presented at their Headspace Showcase in the summer – with honest reflections on living with mental ill health, suicidal thoughts and self harm, and on the journey to recovery.

Hear the programme live at 18:00pm on 93.7fm and BBC Sounds, or on your smart speaker, or listen on demand after broadcast for a month via the Radio Orkney page on BBC Sounds.

We are very excited about this and can’t wait for you all to hear it!!

BBC Radio Orkney Studio Recording

radio

We spent some time in the BBC Radio Orkney studio yesterday! We were recording for an upcoming Tullimentan show, performing some pieces and discussing creative outlets to support good mental health, the Orkney Blide Trust and the Headspace Showcase event we put on in the summer. The episode will be airing at 6pm on Monday November 20th

If you use the JustGiving Fundraising button you can raise funds for the Blide without the hassle of working out how to transfer the money to us. You will be able to create a fundraising page (you may have to create an account), tell people what it is you are doing and JustGiving handle the donations!
