Drop-in Service

Drop-in Service

The Drop-In Service is open every day of the year, and provides support to anyone with lived experience of mental ill-health, and their carers. It provides a place to meet with others in a friendly atmosphere and access support and help from our trained staff.

Visitors to the Drop-In can also benefit from the full range of Blide facilities and activities.

Facilities include a café which provides fairly priced, tasty and varied meals and snacks, hot main meals available on a Tuesday, Thurdsday and Friday are very reasonably priced and need to be booked 24 hours in advance. There is  a lovely garden to enjoy; access to good company and support from trained professionals. There is also a lounge where people can chat, read and relax.

The food is very good with generous portion sizes and a good variety of meals it is very popular”

We offer a range of activities which are reviewed regularly and we respond to ideas and interests of our members.

The yoga was with Jane Rawle who was very careful to be inclusive for everyone regardless of ability, I only fell over once! I wish we could do it every day!”

Members are encouraged to get involved in whatever way they would like to and, for some this means becoming involved with the work of the Blide; this can be helping to cook the lunches, working in the café or garden or taking part in the work of the admin unit.  However, the choice is always yours!

If you use the JustGiving Fundraising button you can raise funds for the Blide without the hassle of working out how to transfer the money to us. You will be able to create a fundraising page (you may have to create an account), tell people what it is you are doing and JustGiving handle the donations!
