Local Young People Resources

      • Action for Children
        Have two strands within the service: the Orkney Emotional Wellbeing Service who offer emotional wellbeing support to those aged between eight and 18 years old, and SKIPTA, who offer support to young people aged 12 to 18 who are negatively impacted by alcohol or substance misuse, either their own or parental.

      • Relationship Scotland (Young people counselling)
        Counsellors trained and experienced in working with young people. They offer free and confidential one-to-one appointments to help you explore difficulties in relationships or to address a range of issues such as anxiety, anger, stress or depression.

      • Right There
        For 10 years, we have been part of a close-knit and innovative community, working with the locals in the inner and outer isles, and supporting children to adults who are going through tough times.  On average we support 40 people each day across Orkney with tailored support from our For People, At Home and In the Community programmes.

      • Orkney Youth Café
        The Orkney Youth Cafe is a drop-in service funded by various grants and charities. We are open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to offer young people from S1-19yo a place to socialise with friends and enjoy a wide variety of fun activities.  Free Wi-Fi is available.

        A digital mental health support service which is available online, 24/7 and is completely anonymous so you can express yourself freely and openly. It is offered via Orkney Island's Council to young people (age 16-31) with an Orkney home postcode.
