We know that taking part in therapeutic and creative activities can be hugely beneficial for maintaining good mental health.
Throughout the year we offer a range of therapeutic options for people to be involved with, ranging from member led art groups, creative Practitioner led projects, like the one which culminated in a photography exhibition at The Pier Arts Centre or our Headspace Showcase event which consisted of a range of creative outlets like music production, poetry, drama and photography.
There are always therapeutic and creative activities and groups taking place, these are best found through our events calendar, or check out and sign up on the posters in the lobby on your way into the building
In early 2025 Sue Warman help a series of ten Experimental Printing Workshops
She was a Community Artist for four and half years before becoming an Art Teacher for 22 years. She taught a creative process using a wide range of materials and techniques.
For the Blide Trust workshops she aimed to create an non threatening positive environment and make the session accessible to all, to facilitate exploration and build confidence.
Each session built on the skills from the last, gradually taking in exploration, composition, manipulation of materials and techniques in printing.
At the end of each session she asked participants to give feed back using just one word.
Here is a short video produced for Headspace Showcase to show of some of our members work from these workshops.
